Obituary February 8th, 1987:

The funeral will be 1:30pm Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church for Nina Vad Goers, 87, formerly of 815 14th Ave. S, who died Sunday at the Alverno where she had resided the past six years.

The Rev. Michael Last will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dave, Steve, Scott and Vernon Goers, Brian Johnson, Tim Sievers and Ira Lund.

Mrs. Goers was born July 13, 1899 in Clinton to Gens [Jens] and Marianne [Mariane] Vad Lund. She married Ernest L. Goers, Dec. 22, 1920, in Clinton County. He died Dec. 1982.

She was a life-long resident of the Clinton area, attended rural Clinton County Schools and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons, Howard D. and Harold D., both of Clinton, and Richard L. of Belleville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and four sisters.
