Herbert P. Johnson, 71, 116 W Adolphus, died Monday, Aug. 15, at Lake Region Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Augustana Lutheran Church, with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The son of Hans and Tina (Thompson) Johnson, he was born May 28, 1912 in Faith, S.D. When he was one year old, his family moved to the Elbow Lake area. He farmed with his parents in Stoney Brook Township, Grant County.

On Sept. 18, 1937, he and Ethel Wagner were married in Rock Prairie Lutheran Church by Rev. Axel Shevland. He continued to farm in Stoney Brook Township until retiring in 1976, when they moved to Fergus Falls.

He was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wendell and presently a member of Augustana Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; one daughter, Bonnie Jukam, Chaska, Minn.; one son, Gerald Johnson, Chaska, Minn.; six grandchildren; and one sister, Donald (Alice) Bakke of Florida.

Visitation at Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls will be all day Wednesday and one hour prior to services at the church.
