Thomas Newman Dies
Thomas Newman passed away in his home in Wilmington Township Thursday, October 24, 1940 at 12:45 a.m. after a long illness aged 73 years, 2 months and 9 days.
Mr. Newman was born in Braidwood, July 15, 1867 to Thomas and Elizabeth Newman residing there until going to Chicago where he was employed by the Chicago City Water Department for 22 years. He retired fourteen years ago to make his home in this township.
Surviving are the widow Mary and one brother Albert of Chicago.
Funeral services were held from the Reeves Funeral Home Saturday, October 26 at 9:15 A.M. with Rev. L. A. Peschon officiating. Pallbearers were Dan Tyrrell, John Hayes, Clarence and William Owens, John Tierney and A. J. Kelly.
Interment was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
