Mecosta - Virginia D. Frederick, 83 of rural Mecosta, died Saturday, Aug. 15 at Mecosta County General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 22, 1914 in Marion, the daughter of Owen and Hazel (Bates) Warner, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1932. For several years she was employed at Fashion Industries and the Wolverine Glove Factory. In the late '50s she moved to Cascade and was employed at Kelvinator until her retirement. Upon her retirement, she moved to Pretty Lake where she had lived since.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Bernell) Beemer of Big Rapids; four grandchildren, Cheryl Adams, Cindy Harris, Karil Lewis, and Russell Wilson; six step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Darcy Warner of Portage, Ind.; a sister, June Everitt of Big Rapids; a sister-in-law, Laila Warner of Big Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Beverly Wilson, and two brothers, Virtue and Victor Warner.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the Rogers-Mohnke Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Clise officiating. Burial will be at the Highland View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow (Tuesday) from 3-9 pm and until time of services Wednesday.
