Singer. Danniebelle Hall received world-wide recognition as an American gospel singer in the 20th century. In the 1970s she sang with great gospel artists such as Andrae Crouch and the Disciples, with the songs “Take Me Back" and "Soon and Very Soon". Dannibelle wrote and arranged most of her music, including "Let Me Have a Dream" and "Create In Me.” Her songs were later covered by Pat Boone, Eartha Kitt and James Cleveland. She made a total of ten albums, including in 1975 “The Moment” and in 1984 “Unmistakably.” She recorded a pair of solo albums: in 1992 “Designer's Original” and in 1995 “The Best Gets Better.” Born the fourth child in a family of eight children, her musical talent was noted when she could play the piano at age three. After professing her Christian faith, she joined with her two younger sisters to form the group the Jones Sisters, singing in local churches. At the age of 17, she went to San Francisco where she met and married Charles Hall. The couple had three children. In 1969 she successfully formed a singing group, The Danniebelles, and had world-wide tours. Even though she should have been considered still young in her fifties, she had serious health problems by 1995 with uncontrolled hypertension and being a brittle insulin-dependent diabetic to the point that she had a above the knee amputation and was on dialysis for renal failure as complications of the disease. Two weeks after the amputation, she had a mastectomy for breast cancer. Two days before she died, she was scheduled to have her other leg amputated but the surgery was canceled as she was declining rapidly. Spreading the Word, her songs brought faith and hope to a multitude of devoted listeners. After her death, one of her daughters established the Danniebelle Ministries to continue her work.
