Opal Reed Armentrout Fort, 94, of Frisco, formerly of Sweetwater, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco.

Fort was born April 12, 1910, in Pedcoke. She married E.D. Armentrout and he died Dec. 17, 1975. She then married Audrey C. Fort Oct. 10, 1975, in Sweetwater and he died April 22, 2004. Fort was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and was a nurses aid at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo for about three years. She was baptized into the Baptist Church in Galveston in 1960. Fort kept Westside Baptist Church nursery for 11 years. She attended school in Kennedy and attended Jolly Beauty School in Dallas. Fort had lived in Sweetwater since 1972, moving from California.

Survivors include four sons, E.M. Armentrout of Houston, Don Armentrout of Grand Junction, Colo.; Sam Armentrout of Fontana, Calif., and Bob Armentrout of Plano; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be made to SNAP, 1701 Elm, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.

Fort was preceded in death by her first husband, E.D. Armentrout Dec. 17, 1975; her second husband, Audrey Fort April 22, 2004; and two sons, Earl Dean Armentrout and Wade Armentrout.
