Middlesex twp., had 2 George Hays families. One was of George Hays and Sarah McCamish. This couple was one of the original settlers of Middlesex. George fought in the Revolution, under commands of Capts Gondy, Elliott, and Boles; as well as Cols Iswinm Dunlop, Clerk and Hunter. He discharged as a Captain at Mifflin co., in 1782. He was married to his wife Sarah McCamish at Tuscarora Valley, Cumerberland co., Pennsylvania in 1781. In 1790 they resided in Mifflin co., and settled in Middlesex twp., Butler co., Pennsylvania in 1792. And here they raised their family, and lived out the rest of their days.
