Mary Porter died January 26 in Hollister. She was 84. She was born in Seymour, Missouri and moved to Hollister from Shenandoah, Iowa 50 years ago. She was a nurse's aid for many years working at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, Southside Convalescent Hospital and Wheeler Hospital. She enjoyed spending most of her time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Porter who died in 1967. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul and Carolyn Porter of Bandon, Oregon, Thelma Trickett of Hollister, Peggy Hone of Hollister, Carolyn and Johnny Ramirez of Firebaugh, Jim Porter of Hollister, Bob Porter of San Juan Bautista, Betty Wilder of Soledad and Charles Porter of Hollister. She is also survived by her sister, Beatrice Gladdin of Hollister, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends can pay their respects on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 from Noon until 8 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the IOOF Cemetery in Hollister. Donations are preferred to Hospice c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th St. Hollister, CA 95023.
