James Taylor, 47 Years old, Falls Into Death Pit
Body is mutilated and it is thought that He was caught by the Machinery

James Taylor, an employee of the Atlas Powder Company's works at Duenweg, was found dead in a drying vat in one of the company's buildings this morning, His arms and back mutilated as if they had been caught in machinery. The body was discovered about 3 o'clock and the man was last seen alive about five minutes before that time.
It is thought that Taylor was caught in the machinery in some manner and was thrown in the vat. The skin was scraped off of his right arm and deep gashes were cut in his back. The man was alone in the building at the time of the accident. The "drier" as it is called, is about eight feet in diameter and three feet deep. At the time of the accident it was __- ___ ___of the top with wood pulp in the process of drying and the body was found partly submerged.
The body was taken to the ____Undertaking Company's _____in Webb City, Where an inquest and post mortem will be conducted this afternoon. Taylor was 47 years old and lived at Scotland. He is survived by a wife. [IT:Joplin News Herald:IT], Joplin Missouri (Wednesday, June 18, 1913):SO].
