In 1904 there was a terrible fire in Aalesund that destroyed the entire town including valuable family records.
On May 18th, 1910 her father Nikolai, along with her young son Laurat (Lawrence Steven) and brothers Johan and Henrik arrived in America aboard the RMS Helig Olav. Sigvarda stayed in Norway for a few more weeks.
June 1st, 1910 Sigvarda came to America and left her newborn son Henning and two year old daughter Aslaug behind in Norway.
Sigvarda owned a sandwich shop in Iowa.
Sigvarda died of old age. She appeared to be a strong woman and she spoke no english.
