She was born June 22, 1923 in Steubenville, Ohio to James and Jenny (Wycoff) Wilson. She lived in Alexandria since 1947.
June served with the United States Women's Army Corps during World War II. She had worked at the Haynes-Stellite, formerly of Alexandria. She had been a loyal member of Kappa Delta Phi sorority for more then 50 years, having held all local offices. She was also a regional officer and Past National President of the organization. June also belonged to the Alexandria Lady Elks. She volunteered as a "Pink Lady" for several years at Community Hospital-Anderson. For more than 25 years, June coordinated the Christmas food basket project between needy families, the Monroe Township Trustee's office and the Alexandria Elks Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chick" Richardson, whom she married Oct. 26, 1946; daughters, Nancy Garcia, Alexandria; Diana (Phil) Reismiller, Frankton; son, Jim "Bub" (Marge) Richardson, Alexandria; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Barbara) Shanley, Alexandria; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Wilson; James Wilson; Billy Wilson; sister, Ruth Henry.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., today Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at Owens Funeral home, 412 N. Harrison St. in Alexandria. Pastor Randy Murphy of Cornerstone Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria where military honors will be provided by Elwood VFW-#5782 Honors Team.
