Frances Lelia Sanderson, 92, of Roanoke County died Sunday, December 16, 2007. She was born in Cloverdale, Va. on November 11, 1915 to the late John William and Myra Layman Sanderson. In 1917, her family moved to the residence where she lived for more than 90 years. Miss Sanderson was a graduate of William Fleming High School and Daleville Academy and retired from William Fleming High School where she worked for 35 years as office secretary. She was a life long member of Cloverdale Church of the Brethren where she served as Sunday school secretary and as an office volunteer. Miss Sanderson was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Charles Michael Beahm. She is survived by her sister, Irene Sanderson Beahm; nieces, nephews, and spouses, Lillian and Michael Beahm, of Botetourt County, Myra Anne and Tom Townes, of Pennington, N.J., Sally and John Early Beahm, of Draper, Va. and Mary Jane and Tim Dailey, of Forest, Va.; grand nieces and nephews, Matthew Townes and wife, Ansley, Jonathan and Elizabeth Townes, Will and Kelly Beahm, Meg, Ben, Sam, and Annie Kate Dailey; and devoted caregivers, Lorene Bishop, Blanche Dooley, Geraldine Garvey, Carolyn Mays, Roberta Rogers and Lynnette Smith. Frances Sanderson will be remembered forever for her dedication to Cloverdale Church of the Brethren and for her service to others. The family expresses sincere appreciation to her loyal caregivers for their years of service and to the staff at Carrington Place who cared for her the last two months of her life. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Cloverdale Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Glenn McCrickard officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's East Chapel.
