Irene Sanderson Beahm, 92, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Born April 1, 1922, she was a lifelong resident on the family farm. Irene was a devout Christian and lived a life of service to her husband, family, friends and students. Irene served the Lord as a long time member of the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, sewing and simply being with her family and friends. She was a gracious and welcoming host who always made room for one more at the dinner table. Irene graduated from Bridgewater College and began her 27 years in education teaching 1st grade at Burlington Elementary and completed the majority of her career as a 1st grade and Kindergarten teacher at Cloverdale Elementary.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Beahm; parents, Myra and John Sanderson; and sister, Frances Sanderson. She is survived by children and spouses; Michael Beahm and wife Lillian of Botetourt County, Myra Anne and husband Tom Townes of Pennington, NJ, John Early Beahm and wife Sally of Draper, VA, and Mary Jane and husband Tim Dailey of Forest, VA; grandchildren, Matthew Townes and wife Ansley, Jonathan Townes and wife Kristen, Elizabeth and husband Dan Poole, Will Beahm and wife Brittany, Kelly Beahm, Meg Dailey and fiancé Joe Mikhail, Ben, Sam and Annie Kate Dailey; and seven great-grandchildren.
