She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 23, 1908 to the late William and Josephine Lavley.
Mrs. Moffett graduated from Port Huron Business College and worked as a secretary for St. Clair Schools and then for the Ogden & Moffett Trucking Company in Port Huron.
She married Donald Ross, a former teacher and principle with the St. Clair Schools, in 1932 and he died in 1943. In 1945, she married Dale Moffett, coowner of Ogden & Moffett Trucking Company, and he preceded in her in death in 1964.
Amelia and Dale were active at St. Paul's Church in St. Clair. She was a member of the St. Clair Garden Club and enjoyed traveling and entertaining. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Clair where she was baptized and confirmed.
She is survived by her son John Moffett; sisterinlaw, Helen Lavley; and her dear Boston Terrier, Jodi.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Justin Lavley; sisters, Ruth George and Phyllis Ingersoll; and halfsister, Jacquelyn Wanamaker.
Visitation will be at the L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today with scripture services at 7 p.m.
She will lie in state on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair, from 11 to 11:30 a.m. when a mass will be said.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church Organ Fund, St. Paul's Church or the St. Clair County Humane Society.
