He was a Cabinet Maker and listed in The Fayette County History from Plumsock.
He Married Susannah Jordan daughter of Edward and Jane Jordan of Franklin Township, Fayette County, PA. Susannah's sister Elizabeth Jordan married Daniel's Uncle George Whetsel.
Children of Daniel and Susannah Jordan Whetsel: Mary Jane, Elizabeth, Hiram, Henry J., infant Dau., Martin V.B., Martha A., Daniel E., Thomas J. and William C. Whetsel
The Land where the Upper Middletown Un. Meth. Church stands, and the cemetery was a parcel owned by Daniel and Susannah Jordan Whetsel. They purchased the land from John McClelland about the time the new church was being constructed, and in 1838, sold eight acres of the parcel to Edward Jones, However in the deed transferring the property to Jones the land on which the church stood and access lane were excluded from the sale. Unfortunately, no deed was ever recorded transfering the excluded church property to the Meth. Episcopal congregation. Ironically, while five generations of Daniel and Susannah have attended the church, they were both Baptists and later buried in the Old Redstone Bap. Cem. near Smock. Although they lived in Franklin Co., Indiana they returned to F.Co. PA. in 1833 after Daniel inherited land from his grandparents. (Thank you to E.M. Whetsel, for Church information).
