Son of Daniel Wetzel of Franklin, Fayette, PA b about 1757 or 1758 d Sept 2, 1835 and Elizabeth Johnson ba 1756 d feb 5, 1845.

Came to IN down the Ohio River on a flat boat from Pittsburg to Cincinnati, which was a settlement of 3 cabins at the time. Gave all his sons farmland in central IN. Farmed in IN until his death at 77 years of age.

Two other children not yet located: John (abt 1809 PA - bat 1850 WV) last known to be in Wheeling WV in 1847 with second wife Elizabeth ; daughter Jane (1810 - about 1856) married Thomas Patterson in 1828 but was widowed or divorced by 1850.
