Mrs. Gerald Pulse, Former Plevna Woman, Died Saturday Following Illness
Mrs. Gerald Pulse, 45 years old, formerly of Plevna, died about 6 o'clock Saturday morning, September 30, 1961, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harold Marsh, near Clarence. She had been an invalid for the last six years and was seriously ill for some time before her death.
Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Plevna Christian Church, the Rev. J. L. Shoemaker of Moberly officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Prairie Cemetery near Plevna beside the grave of her husband who died April 30, 1960. He was also 45 years old.
She is survived by two sisters, Blanche, Mrs. Marsh, and Mrs. Gladys Lancaster of Waterloo, Iowa, and a brother, Cordie Kigar, of near Bible Grove and several nieces ans nephews.
Okal Kigar Pulse was one of the seven children of Fred and Clara Belle Burrus Kigar and was born April 30, 1916, in Scotland County.
She was married to Mr. Pulse February 19, 1950, in Plevna.
They lived in Plevna and operated the Snack Shop. They also lived at Paris, Missouri, for a time before the death of Mr. Pulse. She received a broken back in an accident south of Edina July 20, 1955, and had been an invalid since. She has been cared for by her sister, Mrs. Marsh, for several months.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and her husband both dying on her birthday last year, and three infant brothers and sisters.
She joined the Bible Grove Christian Church when a young girl, later transferring her membership to the Paris Christian Church.
