John Kenneth (Pete) Patterson

Mr. Patterson was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Granite, to Jasper and Katie Patterson.

He married Ora Mae Taylor, Dec. 24, 1932, in Mangum. They made their home in the Granite area until 1940, when they moved to California. They returned to Oklahoma in 1945, and farmed in the Lake Creek community. In 1958, he became the foreman for the Sandyland Research Station at Mangum until he retired.

While in Mangum, he served as an elder for the Church of Christ. After his retirement, they moved to Norman, where the couple lived until their deaths.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

John Kenneth (Pete) Patterson passed away Sunday in Norman at the
age of 90. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mangum Church
of Christ with Eddie Beard officiating. Burial will be at the
Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service.

He was born Dec. 17, 1910 to Jasper and Kattie Patterson.

He married Ora Mae Taylor, Dec. 24, 1932 in Mangum. They made their

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jasper and Jayne Patterson of Norman; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Roger Todd and Carol Jean and Darrell Wells of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
