Obituary: "GOLDIE ROBERTS daughter of JAMES & FLORENCE FULFORD BRANAM was born December 25, 1888, in Hindustan in Monroe County (Indiana). She departed this life February 15, 1970 in Johnson County Memorial Hospital at age 81 years. On December 31, 1905 she was united in marriage to CHARLES ROBERTS. To this union was born eleven children, one baby (boy) dieing in infancy and a son Raymond was accidentally killed in England while serving in World War II.
Mr. & Mrs. Roberts came to this area from Monroe County, IN where they spent most of their married life, except for a time spent in (Chelsea), Oklahoma (while Charles worked frequently in the Oil Fields from about 1910 - mid 1920's). After the death of her husband in 1960, Mrs. Roberts made her home with her children.
The deceased will be well remembered by her friends and relatives for her willingness to help others. She was industrious and kind and deeply interested in the welfare of her family. She was a member of Hindustan Christian Church. (Burial: Hindustan Cemetery, Hindustan, Monroe County, Indiana).
Surviving relatives are the five daughters; Mrs. Blanche Moore, Bloomington, Mrs. Martha Henderson, Whitland, Mrs. Jean Malott of Indianapolis, Mrs. Opal (Lucille) Perry of Martinsville, IN. The four sons are Van Roberts of Bloomington, Kenneth & William of California, and Virgil of Martinsville. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Lena Hamilton and Mrs. Myrtle Ritter and several nieces and nephews."

"Funeral Services for GOLDIE ROBERTS, 81, of R.R. 3 were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Neal and Summers Chapel with the Rev. G. W. Adam's officiating.
Mrs. Roberts died Monday evening (Feb 15, 1970) in the Johnson County Hospital at Franklin.
Mrs. Open Taylor served as Organist and played two special sections, "Beyond The Sunset" and "Ivory Palaces". John Curry was vocalist and he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Going Down The Valley".
The burial took place in the Hindustan Cemetery and serving as pallbearers were (grandson's) DENNIES & ROBERT R. LANHAM, ALBERT HAMILTON JR., RICHARD HAMILTON, PAUL MOORE (son-in-law) and JACK PERRY (grandson)."
