Columbus B was the 3rd son born to William Henry & Rachel Elizabeth (Cates) Burks. His cousin, the late Leitha Burks Foster, told me he died tragically when he fell into a pot of boiling water as the family was scalding hogs. He is the child on the far right of this photograph.
