NAMPA -- Funeral services for Ernest A. Yorgason, 87, of Amity Avenue, Nampa, who died Friday at a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Nampa Third Ward L.D.S. chapel, with Bishop Joseph J. Koudelka, of the Nampa Third Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating.

Interment will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery, near Boise. Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Yorgason was born June 12, 1884, at Fountain Green, Utah, and was reared in Utah. He lived next in Wyoming, and later moved to Union, Ore., where he was married on Jan. 2, 1913, to Luzean Stevens. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple on April 3, 1914.

In 1915, they moved to the Nampa area, where they farmed. He later became a partner in the Union Delivery Service in Nampa, where he worked until his retirement. He and his brother also operated the Yorgason Dance Pavilion, for a period of 20 years.

Mr. Yorgason was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held numerous offices including Sunday School superintendent, ward chorister (for 20 years), and was senior member of the Nampa L.D.S. Stake. Through the years, he was active in various musical groups, including a quartet which performed throughout the valley for many years. In recent years he has made his home near his daughter, Mrs. Scott McKnight, on Amity Avenue. Mr. Yorgason was a member of the Nampa Third Ward.

Survivors include a son, Eldon J. Yorgason of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. George (Alta) Fuhriman, of Melba, Mrs. Owen (Elinor) Fuhriman, also of Melba, and Mrs. Scott (LaRue) McKnight, of Nampa; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Luzean Yorgason, on Sept. 11, 1968, and by four brothers, four sisters, four grandchildren, and by one daughter-in-law.
