Wesley Dale dies at Soldiers Home -- Long Illness is fatal to Spanish War Vet West Dale, aged 76 years a pioneer resident of Boone county and a veteran of the Spanish American war, passed away at the Soldiers Home in Lafayette, Wednesday at 12;15 o'clock following an extended illness with chronic myocarditis. Mr. Dale was born in Boone county and resided here all of his life and engaged in farming with the exception of his service with the 161 Regament Indiana volunteers during the Spanish American War. He had been in the Soldiers Home at Lafayette since December. He was twice married the first time to Belle McLenne who died a number of years ago. His second marriage was to Sarah Hedge Lawler who passed away December 16, 1924. Three sons John Dale, Charles Dale and Lau Dale all of Indianapolis were born to his first union and Arvel Dale of Louisville, KY, Paul Dale, Cloral Dale and Wreatha McFarland of Florida were born to the second union. Besides the children he leaves the following step children Ora and Frank Lawler Boone county, Roy Lawler of Lake Worth Florida, Mrs. Tena Kincaid and Mrs. Allie Atherton of Indianapolis,; one brother James Dale of Boone county and three sisters Mrs. Anna Wollen, Mrs. Dessie Burkhardt of Indianapolis and Mrs. May Dixon of North Salem. Mr. Dale was a member of the Central Christian church and the United Spanish War Veteran Camp No. 49 of this city. Funeral services weill be held Friday afternoon at the Central Christian church at 3 o'clock with the Rev. Homer Dale of Indianapolis officiating Burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
