Newton K Birt, 92, died Wednesday, Dec 16, 1998, at St Francis Home in the Park. He was born Aug 1, 1906, in Council Bluffs, IA and was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church in Superior (formerly Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church).
He retired in 1967 after many years of service as custodian at the former Franklin School.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Inez Nelson Birt in 1994; a daughter, Carol Jean Evans, in 1996; a brother, Chet; and four sisters, Lucy, Lottie, Leah and Pat.
Surviving are two daughter, Verna (Wayne) Davis, Lakeland, CO and Grace (Donald) Orrey, Superior; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Interment to be in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.
