Signe G. “Grace” Orrey, 78, of Superior, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Duluth. She was born August 18, 1940, in Superior, daughter of Newton and Myrtle (Nelson) Birt.

Grace’s work history started in Chicago, where she worked as an x-ray technician. Following her time in Chicago, she moved back to Superior and worked many years at local nursing homes as a C.N.A. She was also a foster grandparent for over 5 years. Early in her life, Grace worked the lunch counter at Woolworths.

Some of her interests included camping, fishing, crocheting, bowling, traveling, and being a lifelong caregiver. However, her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Grace was a member of various clubs, including the Moose Club, Elks Club, Widow’s Club, Stroke Club and president of the Bunko Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald L. Orrey, Sr. in 2005; daughter, Donna Marie; and sister, Carol.

Survivors include her daughters: Deanne (Scott) Orville, and Doris (Dave) Keklah; sons: Donald (Tina) Orrey, Jr., and Douglas Orrey; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Verna (Wayne) Davis.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
