John A. Blair, age 82, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10 (2010) at the Hospice House, Harrison.
The son of Brice Blair and Anna (Smithson) Blair was born July 14, 1928, in Dongola. John was a member of the Grubb Springs Baptist Church and an amateur radio operator. He enjoyed wood carving and spending time with his family, and he loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willie Mae Blair; and two brothers, Elton Blair and Albert Blair.
John Blair is survived by his sons, Randall Blair and wife, Bonnie and John R. Blair, all of Harrison; his daughter, Rhonda Purdy and husband, Robert of Harrison; his sisters, Elberta Jones of Harrison, Vertie Lea Gregory of Dongola and Allie Mae Jackson and Cleatus Mathis, both of Harrison; and his grandchildren, Kirstie Blair, Bailey Blair and Sean Purdy.
Burial will be in Grubb Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff O'Neal, Mason Brisco, Dale Blair, Joe Terry, Sam Wickersham and Rick Bishop. Honorary pallbearers include the staff of Bristol Pointe
