Ernest V. "Ernie" Folk, 95, died Nov. 7, 2010, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Leipsic to Albert and Minnie Derringer Folk, who preceded him in death. On May 13, 1939, in Auburn, Ind., he married Lillian G. Reichert, who died April 6, 2005.

Mr. Folk retired as a tool and die maker from Atlas Crankshaft after 39 years. He was a graduate of Fostoria High School. He was a member of Fostoria Baptist Church. He enjoyed building and making things. He played the harmonica and was a member of a harmonica club in Florida.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana J. Geiger, of Lima, and Clara Folk, of Fostoria; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Lee Folk; a brother, Howard Folk; four sisters, Myrtle Reynolds, Fern Sproul, Dorothy Beach and Alberta Rutherford; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Salisbury.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Pastor Brian Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fostoria Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

FOSTORIA -- A funeral for Ernest "Ernie" V. Folk, 95, of Fostoria, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, west of Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Folk died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana J. Geiger, Lima; and Clara Folk, Fostoria.
Memorials may be made to Fostoria Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
