He had several careers; USN & USAF, Dir. of Security for large chain of stores and finally retired from Volusia County as a Lt. for the Prison System. While in the Navy, he was a Pharmacist Mate and a plank owner of the USS WASP CV-18. During a kamikazi attack he received shrapnel injuries to his knees. When he transferred to the Air Force he continued the pharmaceutical occupation. As a Lt. for the Fla. Prison System, he was part of a specialty team in working on a more personal level with the inmates. He passed at home with Hospice in attendance as requested. He was cremated and ashes were put in the ocean in Volusia Co. by family and another son spread some ashes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He is survived by his wife June [Taylor], daus; Donna L Kinard & Paulette J Sampson of Florida & 2 sons James B, of Florida and William T of Eliot, Maine. He is also blessed with 6 grandchildren.
