Bernard Steward Armacost, son of Edgar Sherman Armacost and Mary Virginia Schaeffer, married Alta Elizabeth Wine, daughter of Paul E. Wine and Carrie W. Undegraft, on August 16, 1947, in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland.

"Bernard Steward Armacost, Sr., 72, of Westminster, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at his home.
Born May 16, 1928, he was the son of the late Edgar S. and Mary V. Schaeffer Armacost. He was the husband of Alta E. Wine Armacost, his wife of 53 years.
He was a 1945 graduate of Westminster High School, where he was a member of the Boys Chorus and Mixed Glee Club.
He had worked with his father and brothers as a carpenter; later becoming a partner with his brother in the building firm of Edgar S. Armacost Sons. He retired from there in 1990.
He was an active member of Kriders United Church of Christ, serving as deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the church choir for 57 years, served on the building committee and was given the distinction of Elder of Merit.
He enjoyed gospel and country music, roller skating, dancing, jigsaw puzzles, and woodworking crafts. He was an avid traveler and a member of the No Problem Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son of Glen Burnie, three daughters of Westminster, and a daughter of Hanover, Pa; brother Kenneth S. Armacost; seven granddaughters; and five grandsons.
He was predeceased by brother Harold E. Armacost.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at pritts Funeral and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Scott Morgan officiating. Interment will be Kriders United Church of Christ cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home."
