Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Becker were called to Hastings on Monday morning of last week due to the death of Mr. Becker's mother, Mrs. Sarah M. Becker, 87, who passed away in the Mary Lanning hospital (sic).


The widow of Wilson Becker, she was a native of Davis, Ill. and resided in Glenvil for a time before moving about 20 years ago to Hastings where she was a United Brethren Church.


Mrs. Becker is survived by her daughter, Miss Alice Becker of Hastings and her sons, Clarence Becker of Nelson and Ralph Becker of Silver Spring, Md.


Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Brand Memorial Chapel with the Rev. A. Langenberg officiating and burial was in Parkview cemetery (sic).

Well Known Glenvil Woman Buried Last Thursday


Mrs. Sarah Becker, mother of Miss Alice Becker, deputy county treasurer of Clay county (sic), died at Mary Lanning hospital (sic) last week and was buried last Thursday afternoon in Hastings. She had lived in Hastings twenty years. The widow of Wilson Becker, a farmer of the Glenvil community and the Becker farm near Glenvil remains in family ownership. She was 87 years of age and had many friends in the Glenvil community. Besides, Miss Alice, two sons, Clarence Becker of Nelson and Ralph Becker of Silver Springs, Md., remain to mourn her death. Burial was in Parkview cemetery (sic) in Hastings. Mrs. Becker was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren church (sic).
