Clarence Wilson Becker, the son of Wilson J. and Sarah (Moorberg) Becker, was born April 19, 1898, at Milford, Nebraska. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Nelson on May 2, 1978, at the age of 80.

March 10, 1920, he was married to Anna Margaret Heye at Glenvil. To this union were born two daughters, Marjorie Adamson of Nelson and Marion Marriott of Alta Loma, California.

Clarence lived in the Glenvil and Hastings area many years before moving to Nelson in 1935, where he worked as utilities supervisor for ten years. Following that he lived in the eastern part of Nebraska at Lincoln, Peru and Tecumseh, where he suffered a heart attack. He retired to the Hastings and Glenvil area, finally coming back to Nelson in 1960.

In earlier years he farmed for a time, then was an auto mechanic for eight years and utilities supervisor for 25 years. In later years Clarence's interestes and hobbies included church, woodworking, golf and garden.

Clarence was a member of the Nelson Christian Church, Masonic Lodge of Nelson AF & AM #77 and the Order of Eastern Star #27.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Alyce Becker of Hastings, and brother, Ralph J. Becker of Silver Springs, Maryland.

Funeral services were held May 6 at the First Christian Church in Nelson. The Rev. Victor Schwarz officiated. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Gerald Biltoft, Wayne Garrison, Walster Williams, Fredo Bergman, Earl Adamson and Howard Good.
Arrangements were by Klawitter Funeral Service of Nelson.
