CHILD KILLED BY WHEELS OF MACHINE

Bluffton, Ind., Aug. 10. - Vera Augsberger, aged 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Augsberger, who reside east of Linn Grove, was fatally crushed beneath the wheels of a manure spreader, driven by her father, and died three hours after her injuries were sustained. She was riding on the machine as her father drove through an orchard and the child amused herself by clutching at the branches overhead. In some way she lost her balance and was thrown directly in the path of one of the heavy drive wheels, which crushed her chest before her father had time to stop the horses. Both parents survive with two other children. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Defenseless Mennonite church, northeast of Linn Grove.
