Newberry - Ada Beam Folk Mitchell, 86, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. She was born November 1, 1922, in Chester to the late Jesse Franklin and Sunie Sanders Beam. Mrs. Mitchell was a former employee of the Market Basket and cared for children in her home. She was a member of Bethel A.R.P. Church of Winnsboro. Surviving are her husband, George Aubrey Mitchell of Winnsboro; sons, Gene Folk of Florida, Jimmy (Beth) Folk and Jesse (Gail) Folk, both of Newberry; a daughter, Frances (Clyde) Brown of Newberry; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was predeceased by her first husband, James Bennie Folk, Sr., and brothers, Davis Beam and Martin "M.C." Beam. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Gregory Slater. Burial will follow in St. Philip's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
