Funeral services were conducted at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Woodward Baptist Church for Ellis B. Beam, 44, well known farmer who lived about seven miles from Chester on the Ashford Ferry road, who died Tuesday afternoon at Pryor hospital. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Mr. Beam was the son of Jesse Franklin Beam and the late Mrs. Janie Craft Beam. He was born in 1907. Mr. Beam is survived by his widow, the former Miss Mae Weir of Chester Co.; two sons, Ellis Thomas Beam and Arthur Weir Beam, both of the homeplace; two sisters, Mrs. John S. McKeown of Blackstock; and Mrs. David Bagley of Charlotte, NC; a half-sister, Mrs. James Folk of Newberry; two brothers, Herbert Beam and Albert Beam, both of Chester; and two half-brothers, M. C. Beam and Davis Beam of Winnsboro; and his stepmother and his father. Mr. Beam was a member of the Woodward Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World, and the Palmetto Field Club whose annual meetings were held on his farm. He was director of the Fairfield County Electric Cooperative, Inc.
