Leslie Blomfield was born in 1918 in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Leslie's mother's maiden name was Linooln. He married Molly (Mary) Cheesman in July of 1946 in Chatham, Kent. Following their marriage,the couple along with Molly's mother Elizabeth moved to King's Lynn where they would spend the rest of their lives. In 1949 the couple's only child Hilary was born. Hilary was born with cerebral palsy but despite her challenges she excelled.
