Obituary from the Thursday, Aug. 9, 1956 Montpelier herald newspaper, p. 3, col.2:

"BROWN, Mrs. Pearl Bell, 80, died Sunday (Aug. 5) in Nottingham Twp. (heart attack). Born July 10, 1876 in Blackford County to Daniel and Augusta Haverfield Marker. Married to William Brown Oct.9, 1897 at Portland. Member Blackford Methodist Church. Survived by husband; six sons, Harold, Earl, Howard, Clyde H., Jay, and Edwin; a brother, Earl Marker; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. A son, Everett Sawyer and two brothers, Elva and James Marker, are deceased. Walker Funeral Home/Blackford Church/Rev. Lura Milligan of Portland/Alberson Cemetery."
