Mr. Brown was a retired Blackford County farmer and also retired from the Indiana Box Factory in Montpelier. He lived most of his life in Blackford County, moving to Florida in 1994.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Blackford Baptist Temple in Hartford City and in Florida he attended the Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, Fla.
Surviving in addition to the wife and brother are five stepsons, Michael B. Hope, Charles E. Hope, Gregory P. Hope, Douglas H. Hope, and David Thomas; a step daughter, Shirley Osborn; 12 step grandchildren; and another brother, Ed Brown of Montpelier.
A brother, Earl, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Keplinger Funeral Home at 509 N. High St. in Hartford City, where calling will be Sunday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday two hours before the service. Rev. Marvin Brown will officiate and entombment will be at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Muncie. Memorials to donors choice.
