LEXINGTON - Edna Kathleen Bennington Johnson, age 66, died Sunday, December 9, 1990 in the Lewis Gale Hospital. Mrs. Johnson was born June 21, 1924 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late William Alexander Bennington and Minnie Hartless Bennington. She was a member of the Neriah Baptist Church and was retired from Burlington Industries. Surviving are her husband, Rev. James Thomas (Slim) Johnson; one son, James C. Johnson, Laurinburg, N.C.; two daughters, Patsy L. Standifer, Fort Eustis, Va.; Sheila J. Barger, Salem; one brother, Marshall A. Bennington, Manchester, Ky.; five sisters, Goldie B. Hartless, Richmond; Mary L. Bennington, Myrtle B. Clark, Martha B. Smith, all of Lexington; Margaret B. Jordan, Waynesboro; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 1990 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jill Y. Crainshaw and the Rev. R. Stewart Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations be made to your local First Aid Crew. The family will not receive friends at the funeral home, but rather at the home of Rev. Johnson on Tuesday after 12:00 noon. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
