Catherine Groza, 88, of Lower Burrell, formerly of Arnold and Leechburg, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at 11:55 p.m., in her residence. Born June 16, 1922, in Georgetown, Gilpin Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Danka) Groza. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington. Miss Groza was employed as a payroll clerk in the accounting department of PPG Research Center in Harmarville for 33 years, having retired on March 1, 1990. She was a 1940 graduate of Leechburg High School. She was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Russo, Marie Wypiski, Bette Franzi, Julia Brandolino and Anna Groza. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday in CLAWSONS, 170 Main St., Leechburg, (724-842-1051). A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.
