HANES--Clyde Puckett Hanes of 2660 G Street Springfield, passed away October 7, 1972 in Portland at the age of 54. He was born October 14, 1917 in Hickman County, Tennessee. He had lived in the area for 18 years, a disabled veteran serving in World War II and was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Lee Hanes of Springfield; three brothers: Aubrey of Springfield, Robert of Centerville, Tennessee, and Bernard of Columbia, Tennessee; three sisters: Mrs. Leo (Audrey) Welch of Junction City, Mrs. Glen (Era) Good of Fall Creek, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Hassell of Little Lot, Tenn.
Graveside Services were held Tuesday, October 10th at 3pm in Lane Memorial Gardens.

Clyde had no children. He battled alcoholism most of his life. My mother was very close to him and accompanied him on his last trip home to visit Tennessee in the summer of 1972. He died later that year at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
