SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Melba Herring, 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Trey Lewis and Brother Tommy Allen. Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Campbell Creek Cemetery in Lena, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday October 30, 2010 at the funeral home.

Melba was born in Lena, LA on May 8, 1934 to George and Maggie Malone. She passed away on October 28, 2010. She was a resident of Shreveport where she was retired from T.G.&Y as store manager. She was a member of Kingston Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Ray Herring; sister Margie Hardee; half brother, Bennie Malone; granddaughter, Bobbie Swaney and husband, Dennis; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Benjamin Swaney.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kingston Road Baptist Church.
