Mrs. Greer was Margaret Nelson, the daughter of Alfred Nelson, of Houston county, and the grand niece of Thomas Nelson, first governor of Virginia and also a near relative of Thomas Nelson Page, the author. She is survived by her husband, to whom she was married nearly sixty three years ago. She was the mother of fourteen children, six of whom are living. They are E. L. Greer, of New Smyrna, Fla; John W. Greer, of Moultrie, Mrs. W. E. Futch, of Cleveland, O., Mrs. J. W. Prince, of Fuquay Springs, N. C., Mrs. H. H. Yancey, of Jacksonville and L. P. Greer, of Valdosta. She was 78 year of age.
