W.H. Chaney, 80
William H. Chaney, 80, a resident of Rt. 2, Leighton, died Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at Colbert County Hospital. He had been ill for the past two weeks.
Mr. Chaney was born in Lawrence County and was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church.
He was a retired farmer.
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Old Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the King Cemetery, T.H. Perkins will officiate with Mays-Brown Service in charge. The body will be at the residence until time for services.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Viola I. Chaney, Rt. 2, Leighton; five stepsons, Lester Carr, Vicksburg, Miss.; William Carr, Battle Creek, Mich.; Roosevelt Wright, Chicago; C.C. Wright, Florence and David Lee Wright, Leighton; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lillie Chaney, Leighton; Mrs. Virgil Fortner, Russellville and Mrs. Edna Brannon, Leighton.
Active bearers will be grandsons.
