The daughter of William Morris and Elizabeth Ellis, both born in Kentucky, she was 102 years 2 months 18 days old, according to her death certificate which was signed by Mrs. Harriet Bennett.

Monroe County Woman Dead at 102

Mrs. Elizabeth Holder, probably the oldest resident of this section of Missouri, died at Jacksonville last Friday. Most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Madison where she has always enjoyed the esteem of a wide circle of friends. Her children, other relatives and friends were exceptionally thoughtful of her old age. Though feeble and shut in she enjoyed life and her declining years were pleasant. Miss Elizabeth Jane Morris was born Dec. 24, 1824, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs.. Harriett Bennett in Jacksonville, Mo. March 11, 1927, aged 102 years, 2 months, 17 days.

She was converted and joined the Baptist church in 1838 at 14 years of age, now 89 years ago. She was united in marriage to Edward D. Holder October 4, 1841, Her husband died Jan. 25, 1885. To this union was born 9 children, five boys and four girls. The living are Mrs.. Lizzie Farrell, Bloomington, Ill.; Ed. B. Holder, Caplinger Mill, Mo., Mrs.. Emma Love Holliday, Mrs. Harriett Bennett, Jacksonville, Mrs.. Anna Bean, Jacksonville, Mrs. Holder leaves to mourn her loss her 5 children, 26 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 80 in all, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Neely at Oak Grove Baptist church, this church having been organized in her home, she being the last charter member.
