Midnight was the beloved pet of her owners, Lily & John, who adopted her as a stray in October 1997 in Port Neches, TX. Midnight's origins were never known, as she showed up on John's doorstep looking for food. She was a very friendly and loving cat all of her life. She traveled back & forth from the East Coast to TX and everywhere in between. An excellent passenger in the family car, with her owners she visited and explored the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA, creeks and campgrounds in TN, WV, and AL. She loved to romp in the snow, but was equally happy to come inside to the warmth and a bowl of food. She was the most sensitive pet we have ever known; when one of us was sad or ill, she would be near us and show a look of concern on her face. Everyone who ever met Midnight instantly liked her. Her beauty and silky, chocolate-like long, flowing coat appealed to cat-lovers everywhere. Midnight enjoyed a long and healthy life into old age. Sadly, she experienced a rapid, unexpected case of diabetes, falling quickly into diabetic ketoacidosis from which no recovery could be expected. Out of mercy and love for our beloved Midnight, we ended her suffering today. Midnight came into our lives exactly thirteen years ago this month; she was a gift of God for which we will always be grateful. We already miss her more than words can say.
