Jessie "Granny" Goetz, 87, passed away Thursday at Ball Memorial Hospital.

Jessie was born in Rigdon, Indiana, to the late Leslie Clay and Maude Emma Duncan. She attended Windfall High School. She worked in the cafeteria at Southside High School for 32 years until her retirement last Tuesday. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, and high school basketball.

Jessie is survived by four children, Janice Bowers (husband-John) of Parker City, Carol Brown (husband-Raymond) of Selma, Bob Goetz (wife-Billie) of Elwood, and Virginia Goetz of Muncie; a daughter-in-law, Alma Goetz of Eaton; 11 grandchilden, Ricky Goetz, Tammy Martin, Les Goetz, Angie Binder, Wayne McCreery, Tony Brown, Kimberly Rief, Michael Goetz, Ben Davis, Chad Davis and Nicci Hires; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Duncan (wife-Jo) of Rigdon, and Ralph Duncan of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, Robert Goetz; a son, Charles Goetz, a great-grandson, Quinton Goetz; a brother, Earl Duncan; and two sisters, Florence Jamison and Mildred Duncan.

A funeral service to celebrate Jessie's life will be 11 a.m. Monday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, with burial to follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Friends and family may gather and remember from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
