SHELBY -- Darrell Basil Luchene, 79, of Shelby, IN, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Lucile; six children: Robert Luke (Marianne) Luchene of Lake Village, Royce Anne (Dennis) David of Iron River, MI, Karen JoAn (J.R.) Christenson of Lake Village, Rhea Lynette (William) Lippincott of Shelby, Rosezell Grace (Mitch) Myers of DeMotte, Darrell Frank (Denise) Luchene of Valparaiso; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie (Dale) Day of GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Marietta, two grandsons, Darrell Anthony Styck and Rodney Clark Luchene, two elder brothers, Beuford and Virgil.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commerical Ave., Lowell, IN, Pastor Fred Zaugg officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Roselawn, IN. Visitation on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Luchene was retired from the Pullman Standard Co., and was a former member of the Church of Christ in Shelby.
