Scott Henry Barr, son of Charles and Nellie (Peck) Barr, was born November 17, 1889 at Griswold, Iowa. He passed from this life at the age of 82, September 6, 1972, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul.

Scott received his education in Iowa and Nance County areas and grew to manhood near Wolbach. On August 19, 1911, he was united in marriage to Oral Coakley in Fullerton, Nebraska. They farmed in Nance County until 1923 at which time they moved to Wolbach. In 1924 he attended and graduated from auction school at Kansas City, Missouri. He pursued his career as an auctioneer for 46 years until his retirement in 1970. Scott and his wife Oral celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Oral; two sons, Alvin of Wolbach and Lorren of Silverton, Oregon; one daughter, Loy Winfrey of Hastings; seven grandchildren, Marlene Lindsley, Sue Killinger and Dale Barr of Wolbach, Sibyl Westfall of Silverton, Oregon, Dean Stiles of Salem, Oregon and Renea and Scott Winfrey of Hastings; three sisters, Clara Bower of Wolbach, Lela McNabb of Rio Linda, California and Lizzie Terry, Bell, California, twenty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lucille, and four brothers, Russell, George, Al and Clarence.
