Stockbridge – Funeral services for Fred Hostettler, 72, who passed away to his home here on Sunday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Burial took place in the Portland cemetery at Brant.

Mr. Hostettler was born Oct. 21, 1871 on the farm now occupied by Ed Hostettler. He married Miss Emma Dorn Jan. 13, 1897 and lived on a farm for 32 years after which they spent 4 years in Hilbert before moving to this village 5 years ago.

Surviving are his wife; 7 children, Norman and Harry, New Holstein; Oscar, Appleton; Mrs. Ruby Gerhartz, Mrs. Robert Burg, Mrs. Lucy Beche, Oakland, Calif.; and Mrs. Loretta Bottomley, Rantoul, Ill.; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ed and Henry of Stockbridge and William, Racine, and 2 sisters.
