COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Wynell Anderson Ballard, 81, will be held Thursday, June 4, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, June 3, from 3-9 p.m. and Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ballard died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Jackson County to the late Beecher and America "Merk" Elizabeth Chaffin Anderson.
Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker and member of Center Grove Church of Christ.
Her family includes two daughters, Carol Mayberry and Cheryl Ballard, both of Cookeville; a son and daughterinlaw, Fred and Janette Ballard of Cookeville; nine grandchildren, Jason Jackson, Leigh Ann and James Bryant, Shelley and Kevin Modrall, Jessica and Dusty Tidwell and Layton Ballard, all of Cookeville, and Stephen Franks of Kansas; five greatgrandchildren, Nicole and Jacob Bryant, Madison and Braylon Ballard and Lily Modrall, all of Cookeville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mitchell Ballard; a daughter, Donna Ballard; a soninlaw, Daryl Mayberry; a sister, Martha Lou Mayberry; and four brothers, Thona, Bud, Henry and Johnny Anderson.
