Guy R. Taylor, 59, 1400 Briar Road, died of an apparent heart attack Friday morning in his home.

Mr. Taylor was president and co-owner of Guy R. Taylor, Inc., plumbing and sewer cleaning. He was born in Winona, Oklahoma, and came to Muncie as a child with his parents, Guy and Mary Pettibone Taylor. He attended schools here and graduated from Central High School in 1940.

He served with the Army Medical Corps in the Pacific in World War II. Mr. Taylor was a past president of the Muncie Noon Optimists Club, a life member of Elks Lodge 245, and a member of Moose Lodge 33, Travelers Protective Association, American Association of Retired Persons, Daleville American Legion, National Speleological Society, Delaware County Historical Society and the Ball State Universtiy Presidents Club.

Mr. Taylor was well known in the area for his world travels and frequently spoke and showed movies of his travel experiences at various meetings. He recently returned from his third trip to the Soviet Union.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Chaple Taylor; one daughter, Mrs. James (Barbara) Crookston; one son, Robert W. Taylor; two brothers, Richard C. and James R. Taylor, all of Muncie; five grandsons, and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Donald Barnes officiating. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum at 10 a.m. Monday. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and prior to services Sunday. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
